About the event

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of Surrey Wildlife Trust will be held on Saturday 16th November 2024 at 10.00am and will be a Hybrid meeting. Members may attend and participate in person or online.

The AGM is a fantastic opportunity to get to know more about the governance of the Trust, our achievements over the last year and our plans for the future.

It’s also a good opportunity to meet and chat to SWT staff about their work and meet likeminded people with a passion for nature.  Our members are an integral part of the SWT family so it would be lovely to see you there and take the opportunity to thank you for your support in person.  Coffee and cake will also be available for you to enjoy.

In addition, a range of inspiring speakers will share their knowledge about the incredible diversity of Surrey’s wildlife and wild places, and what needs to be done to restore nature in our county. Full agenda can be found below.

Your vote matters!

If you cannot attend the meeting in person or online, you can still vote in advance.

You can click here to register your proxy vote online, or email us at finance@surreywt.org.uk to obtain a postal proxy voting form.

Members joining after 8 November 2024 will be unable to vote online. New members are welcome to physically attend the AGM and vote in person. Proof of membership may be required to allow voting rights.

AGM Talks

Imagine a Nature Recovery Network that extends into every part of our towns, villages and countryside, bringing the benefits of a healthy natural world into every part of life. Flowers blooming along road verges, green roofs across towns, wildlife-friendly planting on new housing estates and whole communities gardening for wildlife.

Join us to explore our vision for Surrey and learn about how we can all feed in to deliver local nature recovery networks.

Sarah Jane Chimbwandira - Chief Executive, Surrey Wildlife Trust

Sarah Jane will talk about the highlights of the last year as well as the plans for restoring 30% of nature by 2030.

Adam Brown - Surrey Local Nature Recovery Strategy Lead for Surrey County Council

The Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Surrey will help us reverse nature loss by setting out where and how to manage land and water to create a network of nature-rich sites which are bigger, better managed and more joined-up across the county and across the country. Hear how SCC are working closely with organisations, people and communities across the county to shape and develop this Strategy.

John Madden - Lingfield Nature Reserve

This thriving and biodiverse community Local Nature Reserve, run and managed by volunteers, was a recipient of one of our recent Community Champion Awards.  Combining forces throughout the community to make a difference and demonstrating how landowners are critical for nature recovery, we will hear about what restoring nature in Surrey looks like on the ground for this local group.

Aimee Clarke - Director of Engagement, Surrey Wildlife Trust

We set ambitious nature recovery targets at SWT, which cannot be achieved alone. Hear how the power of people and partnerships is crucial, what can be achieved by working together and what part you can play as an individual.

Join us in our vital vision to restore Surrey’s nature!
