About the event

There is an abundance of reptiles native to Surrey. Spend a day learning about all of them including their ecology and natural habitat. Our tutor, Jamel Guenioui, is a Senior Ecologist in the Surrey Wildlife Trust's Ecology Services team.

We will using the classroom attached to Witley Common, which is a National Trust property and the best place in Surrey to potentially see all of the native reptile species. The NT have offered us free parking, where available, in their car park adjacent to the common for the purposes of this course.

Jamel will spend the morning in the classroom sharing his knowledge of each species.  In the afternoon, he will guide us through the local heathland where we will discover reptiles in their own environment while learning how to use wildlife keys to accurately identify them.

Please note that you will be walking though rough terrain on uneven ground so this course would not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
