Nextdoor Nature Communities Grant

Please complete the below Grant Application Form, detailing your plans and how the money would be spent, and email it to communities@surreywt.org.uk by 31st July 2024. As detailed in the Form, please also submit your supporting evidence alongside your application - this could be anything from videos and photos to landowner or planning permission for your site.

It will help us if you can answer the suggested questions to give us a greater understanding of your plans. You will need a group member happy to oversee the project, and funds will be paid into a community group or organisation's bank account. If you want more ideas on what you can do, please visit our website for inspiration!

Once you have submitted your completed application form and supporting evidence to the above email address, we will let you know by mid-August if you have been successful after an internal review. Good luck!

The following terms and conditions apply to communities receiving funding from Surrey Wildlife Trust. These conditions should be read in conjunction with the Grant Agreement:

• Project owners must be age 18 or over and be a UK resident.
• Projects must be based in Surrey UK.
• The funding must be used towards actions and activities that help the natural environment in your local community. This may include undertaking practical projects, or training to learn more about local wildlife.
• Agreement will be subject to SWT receiving a completed Nextdoor Nature Communities Grant Application Form and SWT approving the project.
• Landowner permission must be obtained and evidence submitted with the Grant Application.
• The community applying for the grant must have a bank account in the community group or organisation's name.
• The proposed biodiversity improvements must be agreed upon by Surrey Wildlife Trust before work is undertaken and before funding is allocated. Please note, that retrospective work cannot be funded.
• Applications must be received by 31st July 2024.
• We aim to release funds to the successful applicants at the start of September 2024.
• The funding must be spent by 30th September 2024.
• Project owners will be required to agree to a Nextdoor Nature Community Grant Agreement before funds can be issued.
• You will be required to submit a short report after spending the grant, including copies of receipts demonstrating how the money was spent, how successful you think it was and how the benefits of your project might continue into the future – this can be in the form of a written report, photos or a video.
• Funding will be according to the full terms and conditions as set out in the Funding Agreement.
