About the event

Stepping into the woods with us will be a step forward on your personal journey to discover more about how you can work with learners in an inspiring environment. We will initially spend 6 days in the woods (3 blocks of 2 days) building a community of learning, where we will explore the forest school ethos, different ways of learning, woodland ecology and develop personal practical skills such as fire lighting and using things found in the woods to problem-solve and create.  Our trainers will then support you in learning by doing, as you facilitate your own forest school programme, including in-person support in your setting. You will then regroup with your fellow trainees to share your learning from your programme, and trainers will assess your practical skills at 2 skills assessment days. The remaining assessment will be through completion of a portfolio of evidence.

Dates: Thurs 19th & Fri 20th Sept, Weds 16th & Thurs 17th Oct, Thurs 14th & Fri 15th Nov 2024, Thurs 6th & Fri 7th March 2025.

The course runs from 9.30am to 4pm daily.
