About the event

Willow is an extremely versatile plant which is used when making a variety of baskets and living sculptures.

On this half day course, you will learn to create a beautiful living willow tree with a spiralling harlequin pattern. Through her hands-on approach your tutor, Emma Wetherell, will offer advice and support while teaching the best techniques to weave a stunning piece of garden art that will continue to grow for years to come.

No experience is necessary; however, some manual dexterity is required. If you suffer from arthritis, RSI or carpal tunnel syndrome please check with the course tutor prior to booking.

All materials will be provided, but you may wish to bring a pair of gardening gloves if you have them.

These trees can be up to 6ft tall so please make sure that you have an adequate vehicle in which to take it home.

Tutor Profile: Emma Wetherell

My creative journey into willow crafting started 15 years ago when I wove my first basket. Since then, I have been inspired to perfect my art of willow crafting through creating living willow trees and sculptures as well as basket making. More recently, my aim has been to inspire more people to fall in love with willow by teaching its wonderful properties in a variety of different workshops.
